The Art of Kintsugi – [How to Fix a Broken Teacup]
Broken teacup? Don’t worry, it happens to all of us!
Luckily, we’ve found a unique “fix” for broken cups that has them looking better than the original.
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery and ceramics with a gold colored glue. The philosophy comes from the idea that we should embrace and celebrate an objects history. To do it yourself, mix Epoxy (gorilla brand works well) with gold mica powder (available at Michaels), now using a thin brush, apply your mix to edges of broken pieces, press together, and hold. The results are incredible and usually end up looking better than the original,
Now hold on while I “accidentally” drop this cup…
*Work with one piece at a time and be sure to wear safety gloves
